Cho 0 joo, published as part of the 2022-2023 Arts Council Korea’s Artist Research-Study-Critique Project. The book is a critique that studies Youngjoo Cho’s activities since her debut in 2002 until 2023. It introduces a total of 69 works organized based on the archives of the writer’s main activities. The process of constructing the work is reconstructed as a project manual divided into ‘solo’, ‘collective’, and ‘collaboration’ according to the form of the work, and the records that served as the basis for the production of the work are included. The latter part of the book includes new research articles along with past critiques to help you gain a three-dimensional understanding of the artist.
The inner margin of every page functions as a kind of index that indicates the location of the corresponding article in the actual table of contents along with the table of contents. The table of contents printed on this margin is applied to the cover and runs through the entire book. The reason why Stempel Garamond was chosen as the English font was simply because the stroke of the number 0 in this font indicates the opposite direction of the pressure of the pen compared to general fonts.
